BYE allows to Capture 2 images/Exposures and then get stuck

eyastronomer

Question

Hello.

I purchaised BYE the premium eddittion.

I successfuly connect it with my EOS 760D. However, after I am taking 2 test exposures/captures or even operate a program of exposures - BYE won't let me capture more than 2 exposures. With the first two - it counts the exposure secconds, says it is bissy and then says "Donload" and in  fact downloads the images captured. As for the third image...it counts the exposure seccondsbut get stuck and doesn't download the image.

Then I turn off the program and reconnect and the same thing all over again.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Vat

Vat,

You have not provided very much information so this is a guess.

Which version of BYE are you using?

If you have not tried BYE 3.1.12 RC 9, you should download it from the Pre-Release download area and see if it fixes your issue.

You also need to use the Canon driver/SDK (not Canon215 or Canon210).

Also look in your On-Camera Settings Menus for which Settings are ON-by-Default for the 760D.  (Each new Canon Model introduces New Settings and Changes which are set ON-by-Default).

Specifically check for Long-Exposure Noise Reduction (depending on how this is setup, new Canons allow 2-3 Exposures BEFORE starting the Background Dark Exposure).

Have you tried the suggestions made above?

Install BYE 2.1.12 RC9?

Verify that you are using the Canon SDK, not Canon215 or Canon210.

Look at the settings in the camera, as suggested. There are several that are not applicable for astrophotography that may be turned on and BYE cannot change them...That is up to you.

When you post about your issue, please be as complete as possible about the steps required to duplicate your issue.

For example you say that BYE gets stuck after 2 images, but not which screen (Imaging or Frame & Focus) are you using. Are you saving the images to your PC, to the camera's memory card, or to both.

We are not looking over your shoulder so we only know what you tell us.

Thanks!
