EOS R6 Mark II not connecting

The R6 Mk II is not in the Supported Cameras List because it was just released in the past couple of weeks. Versions of BYE that were released before Canon released the camera will not support your camera. The latest pre-release is BYE 3.2.3 RC4 was released about the time that the camera was released, but it can take several weeks or months for Canon to release a new version of their SDK that supports the new model.

Before the camera can be used by BYE, Canon needs to release a version of their SDK (software development kit) which is the software library that Canon provides to allow 3rd party developers like O'Telescope to control their cameras. Then BYE needs to make any changes to support the new model and release a new version of their software. The BYE developers cannot possibly purchase every camera that Canon releases. They try to use camera owners to test pre-releases of BYE for them. If this is not able to confirm BYE's compatibility with the new model, they have in the past rented a camera for testing. Availability of a new model for rental can take several months.

Hi Astroman133 Thank you for your detailed response , I did notice that the R6m2 to was not in the list of support cameras but the R6 is ,so was hoping it was still compatible , and cheers for answering my second question which was approximately the time frame to how long can0n takes to release a new SDK because it seems like every piece of asto software cannot connect to my camera i’m not an impatient person just enquiring to a solution thanks again for your reply it validates my suspicions

that supports Eos R6m2

I’m guessing you mean Eos R6m2 as I don’t have the Eos Rc, sure I would be happy to

as long as there is low chance of damage ?

I can’t replace this camera $$$

Yes, I did mean the R6M2.

The free license is called the Trial and it provides full functionality for 30 days.

If not, you could wait for an official release that supports your model.

Wow, $4800 for Canon's first Cooled DSLR. Can't find details on the Pixel Size, but the 45MP Full-frame 20fps Sensor should be Good for both DSO and Planetary!! :^)

Download, Install, and try to connect your camera. It will not connect, but you should be getting a message similar to the following in the log window.

Send my that info, I need it to register your camera model in BYE. I will then re-compile and send you a new download link to try out.

Here is what i get now after it did not connect. i got similar with the R7. Thought I had copied it but guess not. Notice RC4 on this copy of software.

I am using that link but I still have RC4 showing on the top line.

The first file was labeled RC5. I have tried it and click on that link. I put it in a different folder each time incrementing the name by one after 3.2.3.?. Should not be activating the same file again and again.

That does not make any sense, these numbers tell me the Canon SDK packaged with RC6 is not the latest. Give me the weekend and I'll figure it out.
