What is Telescope Direct in the Advanced Mode In BYE?

Can someone explain to me where I find Telescope Direct as a source for RA/DEC in BYE Advanced Mode?

It reads the RA/DEC from the connected ASCOM telescope and populates the RA/DEC fields in BYE.

CPWI is a program that uses / implements an ASCOM Hub Interface, from which BYE/BYN can read the Mount's RA/DEC data.

Thank you! That answer is not in the BYE documentation is it? I guess that means using CPWI with this is out of the question?

I agree that the BYE documentation has not kept up with the new features that the developers have added.

That said, when using ASCOM for device control and ASTAP for platesolving, it is assumed that you understand how those products work, or are able to figure it out from the documentation provided with those products.

I am not sure why you would come to the conclusion that BYE would not be able to control your Celestron mount through CPWI, but you should read the CPWI documentation and the extensive ASCOM documentation to learn about those products.

Since I'm a newbie, I'm liable to come to all kinds of bad conclusions. 😲

That is why I come to the forum to get the answers that are NOT OBVIOUS and NOT IN THE DOCUMENTATION!
