BYE won't connect to Canon 450D

System has been working great for weeks.  Tonight, I could not connect my camera.  I checked the EOS Utilities but they were not running.  Anybody got any ideas?  I'm new to this and may have changed something without realizing it.

Check your cable connection. One may be loose

If you do not see the camera in the Windows Device Manager then BYE will not be able to connect to it.  That may be a Windows problem or a cabling problem.

 

The camera was powered on, right?

While you do not want EOS Utility to be running when BYE is Running, EOS Utility is a good Tool to confirm whether your problem is one of USB Connectivity.  If EOS Utility cannot connect to the Camera either, then the problem is confirmed as Connectivity...
