BYEOS and Ascom Filter Wheel

jolasa1

Question

I have installed ASCOM drivers for an Atik filter wheel, but I cannot get it to show at the top of the BYEOS main page.

Here is an image a friend sent me of what his BYEOS looks like with an Atik filter wheel with ASCOM driver:

[ note he also has an ASCOM focuser, and an ASCOM telescope installed ]

How do I check to see why I cannot see and control my ASCOM Atik filter wheel in BYEOS?

Guylain,

The screen shot that he attached showed that he chose the Atik filter wheel, but he was not connected.  It seems that either he was not connected, manually disconnected, or did not connect because the filterwheel was not available on the configured serial port.

Yes, but that screen shot is from a friend, not his.  So I'm guessing he does not even get that far with his... which means it could be a driver issue.

Did you click the check mark icon to connect it?

Also, BYE is a 32 bits application so you need the 32 bit version of your filter wheel ASCOM driver.

I also have the Atik filter wheel and I can get mine to connect... if that helps.

Regards,

Jon,

The jpg screenshot that you posted shows that you are NOT connected to the focuser.  If you were connected, the checkmark would have a lighter gray background. If you click on the checkmark and still are not connected, then I would try connecting to the ASCOM Simulator Focuser Driver.  If you can connect to the simulator driver but not the Atik driver, then you most likely have a problem with installing the Atik driver.  If that is the case, I would suggest contacting Atik for support.
