BYN takes an age to start

Hi,

I have been using BYN for a long time now without any problems. The other day I came across the problem that the software takes up to 60 seconds to start. It used to take only a few seconds before. What might be the reason for such a delay?

Try upgrading.

Back a few years ago, in order to accommodate users who wanted to use BYE/BYN to photograph the solar eclipse, Guylain added additional rows to the capture plan. This added quite a bit of time to the program startup. That delay has since been improved.

I just wantd to upgrade but it says that the coupon mentioned in the BYN upgrade instructions is not a valid one, and therefore not accepted. Am I not eligible for an upgrade?

Please read the upgrade instructions carefully.

You have BYN 2.0.9.  You don't need a coupon. Your 2.x key works with any versions since 2015.  Just download the latest, use the same key.

I may have replied too soon.  I see you have the Classic edition, and you are trying to upgrade to Premium edition.

Nikon DSLRs also take their own sweet time on startup reading through all the existing Images on any SD Card, so make sure your SD Card(s) if inserted are empty or nearly so.
