M50 not connecting

Backyard is is not connecting to my M50.  It is not generating any error codes... simply gives a few items to check and then says come to the forum and open a ticket.  I did not see any other threads on this specific issue.

I further tested with my canon 80D, and backyardeos works fine with it.  Shows up and interfaces as advertised.  Went back to the M50 and discovered that it works if I manually apply pressure shoving the plug into the camera body.  As soon as the pressure is let up, it disconnects.  So the issue is hardware and with my camera, not with backyardeos.  Thanks for the help.

The most important piece of information.... What version of BYE?

The second most important piece of information, does Windows see the camera?

BYE 3.2  and no, windows does not appear to see the camera.  I attached a quick screen grab

Windows needs to see the camera first.  If Windows does not see the camera there is no chance BYE see and connect to it.  You need to figure this first,

If the camera has WiFi, make sure that it is disabled. 

Also, if Windows sees the camera, it will be shown in the Windows Device Manager, not on File Explorer.

If you respond to the "What do you want to do with Device X:??" Prompt with Access Images / Files, then Windows will show it as a device in File Manager.  But this is the WRONG mode for Connectivity to BYE, and you will need to Reboot the PC and Power Cycle the Camera.

While I'm happy to see BYE works fine with your M50.... I equally sad that there is a hardware issue with it.  Best of luck, these are not always as straight forward to solve sometimes
