Actually, EOS Utility DOES allow for Wireless Connectivity and Remote Control - but only for the 6D and the 70D and the Just-Announced T6i.  Frustratingly, the wonderful 7DmkII did NOT get this WiFi Functionality!

Canon's Product Support Pages for each of the 60 and 70D have PDFs explaining how to perform the WiFi Connection via either Infrastructure mode (Router) or EOS WFT Pairing (Ad hoc Point-to-Point Camera-to-PC or Camera-to-Smartphone or Camera-to-Printer).  These Canon Docs don't say, but as it is EOS Utility it is unlikely to be via PTP Mode but rather through an adjunct to the SDK.
