Canon 7Dii Stuck on busy with exposures longer than 4 minutes

Question

Hi all,

I'm new here and would love some help.

I'm pretty new to this so please bare with me, I have a Canon 7Dii and am trying to get longer exposures than 180 seconds but for some reason when I set the bulb timer in backyard EOS to either 240 or 300 seconds (basically anything higher than 180 seconds) It'll start the exposure, finish and close the shutter and then just hang on busy, never actually download the image. Last night I was doing some testing, the first 2 300sec exposures downloaded but then the 3rd one hung, nothing had changed. When I try to close the application and reload it the camera won't reconnect because it's still trying to write the image so have to eject the battery/psu to the camera and re-insert.

I've tried 2 different USB cables and different USB ports, I have a razer blade 14 late 2016 with all USB3.1 ports and one thunderbolt, core i7 6700HQ and 16GB ram, it's a decent enough machine.

I am auto guiding at the same time using phd2, a ZWO ASI178MC guid camera and the ST4 port connected to my star adventurer

I have attached some of the logs but I couldn't see anything obvious.

Many thanks in advance!

Riz
