It may be an issue with "How" you are performing this Change.  And which Camera Model you are using.

There is a Setting in BYE to select Storage to PC or Camera or PC+Camera.

However, certain DSLR Models (especially the newer or higher-end models) have been known to have problems configuring In-Camera storage through the SDK (this is even more prevalent on the Nikon DSLRs).  Also, if Images are to be stored on Camera, then several of BYE's functions are no longer available (obviously no Image Display or Review).

I am trying to change the download point for images from the default  'pictures/BacktyardEOS file to the SD card on the camera.

However when I try to change this I get a 'You need permission to perform this action' message.

How do I overcome that please?

Is this a Windows message?  If you make other changes other than this one, are the settings changed?  If not Windows has messed up some folder privileges and the easiest way to fix this is to re-install in a separate folder.

regards,

I'm sorry but the is nothing we can do to help you without specifics.

  • Is this a Windows message?
  • What action are you performing when you get the error message?
  • Please provide a print screen of the error when you get it.

It looks to me like you are trying to set the SD card as your download folder.  This is NOT the correct way of doing it.  The download folder MUST be on a computer hard drive and MUST NOT be mapped to a folder on the camera SD card.

Only the camera itself can write on the camera card.
