Error Message

I am receiving an error message that I need a Configured Serial Cable to operate in the Bulb Mode and to operate the mirror...Where can one find this cable. The standard Nikon cable from USB to the side of the camera is not working. All the other  shutter modes are okay using the standard USB cable, except the BULB....

I have a Nikon D700 modified full frame. BY Nikon V. 2.0.10

Hi Rodney,

The 700D is a 12 year old cable and back then Nikon did not allow BULB over USB.

A serial cable is a third party cable, it's not a Nikon supplied cable.  BYN has been tested with the Shoestring DSUSB cable there there are other cables that will work as well.

Note that the 700D requires 2 cables running in parallel from the camera to the PC for full functionality with BYN.
