Is it possible to adjust lens focus step amount?

robb42

Question

In the manual lens focus widget that appears when you go to Frame & Focus live view, there are 6 buttons for adjusting the focus (see attached).  Is it possible adjust the amount that the smallest step amount moves the focuser?  It seems like a finer amount of control would be useful for really dialing in the focus.

I'm using a Nikon D800 with BYN 2.0.10

ok, that's too bad.  Maybe an SDK enhancement request could be submitted to Nikon?   I know it must be possible because I've used some INDI-based programs on the mac that let you program the step size, and you can do extremely fine adjustments.

All in all, I'm enjoying BYN - thanks for creating it!

An INDI Driver for NIKON Lenses??  Or a generic INDI Focuser Driver??

Your first step would be to identify which INDI Component and then ask that Developer whether they are using the NIKON SDK or something else.

If the INDI Developer has found a "Trick with the SDK", then there might be hope that Guylain can use that same Trick.
