Nikon D610 problem

rich.g2

Question

Recently whenever I try and use BYN on my D610 I get an session cancelled error with the following error message:

[kNkMAIDResult_NotSupported] (kNkMAIDCommand_CapSet, 33042, kNkMAIDDataType_EnumPtr, 322955464) or some similiar message

Camera is in M mode and at bulb setting. No lens, and trying to shoot darks.  I have it set to manual focus and have reset all selections in all menus.

Have connected in NIKON and NIKON2015 Mode with same results.  Using Nikon USB connector straight to Toshiba Satellite laptop

running windows 8.1. Most recent log file attached.  Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the suggestion.  Just tried that(saving to pc only).  No change same session cancelled response and error code.  Tried in both connection modes.  Same response. Should note that Live view (frame and focus) works fine.

Full factory reset did it.  My darks session is now running as planned.  Thanks. It would be nice to know which setting is causing the conflict, especially since I don’t plan on fully dedicating the D610 to AP.

Agreed, it would be nice to know but without a camera on hand it is hard to troubleshoot :(

Yes, most any setting that affects the Creation, Workflow, or Delivery of Images from a modern Nikon DSLR to the PC seems to stump the Nikon DSLR.

While we would love to think that the Makers of our Highly Capable DSLRs would want to ensure that the SDKs they provide to enable PC-Tethered functionality also feature their greatest Features, it isn't so.  Instead, the SDKs seem stuck with just minimal Feature Support of the earliest generation DSLR.
