Loop Doesn't Seem to be Working

msl

Question

Clicking on the Loop button before starting an imaging session doesn't seem to working. With the Loop button ON (highlighted) it takes Group 1, Image 1 then Group 1 Image 2, Group 2, Image 1,  Group 2, Image 2 etc. rather than Group 1, Image 1, then Group 2, Image 1, then Group 1, Image 2, then Group 2, Image 2. In other words, the session sequence is the same with or without the Loop button clicked ON. Thanks.

Thanks.

OK. I was going by the description of the Loop feature on pp. 45-46 of the manual. Is there a way of iterating through the images so an image is taken from each group and then looping back rather than first completing all the images from a group? That way, you have an image from each group taken closer in time. I'm new to BYE. Thanks.

The difference is having an image from each group taken more closely together in time rather than waiting for all the images in a group to complete.

I assumed the resulting image order as described in the manual occurred automatically because there doesn't appear to be a way to set the number of loop iterations or a loop counter.

But as I said, I'm new to BYE.

Thanks.

Perhaps you can elaborate on your perceived value for having "an image from each group taken closer in time".

Most of us AP Imagers wish to have all of our Lights Exposures taken while we have the best conditions.  We can take the Bias and Darks at most any time - even in Daytime - with just a bit of creativity regarding replicating similar Ambient Temperatures.  And the Flats are usually taken at End of Imaging Session (or in the Dawn if doing "T-Shirt Flats").

Alternating between a Light and a Dark and a Bias would be seen by most as "Wasting Valuable Dark Sky Time".
