forced to run WIN 10 system Restore

matthewota

Question

Due to inept and damaging remote tech support from Hewlett Packard and their "computer rescue" partner three days ago my Windows 10 OS was messed up so bad that I Went to  to the latest system restore point, which was a day before I installed BackYard EOS.
As a result my BackYard EOS trail icon was gone, and my Canon EOS Remote Control would not work. After three hours of incredibly competent and helpful tech support today from Mark at Cannon, I now have the Cannon remote software running fine. Now I want to use Backyard EOS to image Mars this evening (It is at opposition 22 May 16 at 15:00 hours Pacific time).

Is there a way I can get it to run again by 21 May 16 7:00 hours Pacific time (today)?
If so I appreciate any help.

If by " Canon EOS Remote Control" you mean EOS Utility and you got that to work then all you need to do is re-download BackyardEOS, install, and it should work, including recreating the desktop icons.  You may have to revalidate your key but aside from that it should just work.

Do realize that "Mars isn't going anywhere - at least not in a hurry"...

While last night was the "Official Mars Opposition Date", the relative positions of Earth and Mars change SLOWLY.  For the past few and the next few weeks, the Distance and Orientation and Visual Size of Mars vs Earth will be essentially the same as at Opposition.

AND...

Since Last Night was also the Full Moon, it was actually a Rather Poor opportunity to Image Mars - they were only separated by a few degrees and the Moonshine would have added difficult Glare to shield from your Images.

Over the next several days, the Moon will traverse further from Mars' position in the Sky and give you multiple Quality Opportunities to Image the Moon.

(Which you were going to do by Stacking Planetary Video - BYE 5x-LiveView Planetary Video - right??)
