Simply put:  You do NOT want to use "Standard DSLR Daytime Video" for AP / Planetary Video Purposes.  The main reason is that the Standard Video is NOT a 1:1 Pixel Ratio, and therefore you are losing much of the Detail which you are attempting to capture.

Think about it - the Sensor is 5000x3000 Pixels (or more) but the FullHD Output is only 1920x1080 Pixels, and that reduction is attained by Interpolating 1 output Pixel from 3-3.5 Sensor Pixels (not a recipe for capturing actual detail).

Are you asking about BYE or BYN??? I assume that you are asking about the in-camera video/movie mode.

For Canon cameras, the answer is NO.  The limitation is due to the fact that Canon does not provide the ability to control in-camera video capture through their SDK, so it is not possible to implement in BYE.

I don't know about Nikon cameras, but I would guess not.

Yes and no!

BYE/BYN uses live view to capture video, not movie movie.

Movie mode is meant for daytime video and in that mode the camera firmware processes the image extensively... which is not good for astrophotography.

Live view 5x mode in BYE is the best quality you can get from a DSLR.
