Potential User - Canon 40D question

I just purchased a used Canon 40D. There was no installation software with it. Will Backyard EOS work ok without it?

I tried to download Canon Utility from their website but cannot find it for this camera.

You will most likely have to download the Drivers and EOSUtility software from the Canon Support website.

It would likely depend on which version of Windows you are running. Windows 7 and later should have the low level Canon driver installed as part of the O/S.

The purpose of the free 30-day trial is to help you get over any newbie issues and confirm that the software will work for your workflow.

Make sure that Windows lists the camera in the Device Manager after the camera is connected and powered on. If you have the EOS Utility, try that. If it connects, then BYE will connect.
