Telescope control

Question

Hello. I am new here and on astrophotography.

I am using a Nikon D7000 with orion magnificent mini guider with PHD2 and an iOptron iEQ45 mount

I was trying software and equipment to get familiar with its use. i was able to get telecope control through my comp port with an RS232 usb cable; however when i click on the arrows to move the mount it does not. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get the mount controlled through backyard or if is not possible what are the N,S,W,E arrows for?

Thanks in advance

Mlois

Your ASCOM driver may not have implemented the MoveAXIS commands, which is what I use to nudge the scope.

Please beware that the ASCOM Telescope controls in BYE/BYN are not meant to replace your full planetarium program.  It is a quick implementation to be used as a convenience only.

Send me the log files and I will be able to confirm (or not) if your ASCOM driver has implemented the MoveAXIS commands.

Are you connecting OK? Do you see values for Mode, RA, DEC, AZ, and ALT?

Assuming that your telescope driver supports MoveAxis commands, you need to press and hold the NESW buttons with the mouse, not just click on them.  The telescope only moves while one of the direction buttons is held down.
