Software Update Assistance

Hi there,

I am trying to update my software from 3.1.18 to the current 3.2.1 version.  I downloaded the new software and it created another shortcut on my desktop.  Is there a way to just update the existing software without duplicating the entire thing?  Also, it is requesting a validation key which I cannot find.  Is there a way around this or am I just doing it wrong?  It would be nice if the software automatically checked for updates like PHD2.

I have found my key code; however, would still like to know if that is the best way to update the software.

Key code??? do you mean your BYE license key? It is available on the web site under My Purchases | Orders from the menu bar at the top of the page after you log in.

If you install to the default folder, the new version will replace the old version. It should also pick up the old license key. However, it is sometimes useful to install a new version while keeping the old version, especially if the new version is a beta and you want to be able to go back without doing a re-install.

3.2.x will be installed in a different folder that 3.1.8.

If you do not want 3.1.8 anymore, you'll need to uninstall it separately.
