Another Usb Cable For Nikon - It's Working!

cicsprog

Question

Since I'm having trouble getting one of these cables (wink), I did some GOOGLE searches and found this video of a guy who built another Computer controlled USB cable switch for Nikon.

I've order the parts today off of EBAY and will post back when I get it hooked up and working.  This way you are reliant on EBAY supplier and a little bit of work yourself.

Ordered one of these boards from Bulgaria ("Sigmashop") Jan 10th and it finally arrived, lol.

If you found the same vendor, it WILL show up, now I have a fun project for tomorrow. Hooray.

Edit: Heyyyy! Got it working :)

Had to come back to the thread a few times for the Relay COM setting etc, but it's working. Here's a few pics of my build:

I bought 5x of these little boxes off Amazon for $9.99 (LINK).

Relay cable was "10-PIN REMOTE SHUTTER RELEASE CORD MC-30A FOR NIKON SHIPS QUICKLY FROM USA" off ebay for $9.86

The PCB looks different, but I got it from "Sigmashop" in Bulgaria (LINK). 23 euro? I paid USD, it converted fine, but took a month or so to arrive.

I seemed to be having issues with the camera itself (Nikon D700), but by setting the dial on the camera to "S" and making sure "M - Bulb" was shown in the window, it then worked fine. Before setting those settings, it would open the shutter, then just stall out, and actually sometimes force close the app itself. Once I had those settings in place, it's working great.

Alexa, will it be cloudy tonight? "This evening, you can look for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures around 3 degrees Celsius".

(-_- )
