Please choose a better topic name for future threads that you create.

The topic of your thread "M" is not helpful to someone who is scrolling through the list of topics or searching for topics who might also want to know if BYN is compatible with the Nikon Z6 camera. A better topic name might be "BYN compatibility with Nikon Z6???".

Thanks.

I edited the post title.  Good catch.

The SDK is available... I'm still waiting for NIKON to send me a Z6 and Z7 for testing.

How long do you think you'd need a Z6 in your hands to get it to work? (I'm asking as I could possibly drop by and lend you my Z6 while visiting family in Ottawa if you are 100% sure you won't brick the camera, might be faster than waiting on Nikon to send one to you... and I'd like a Laptopable solution some point soon for the camera)

Well. thank you for the offer.  I suspect I may need anywhere between 2 to 7 days to make it work.  Usually I only need a day or less but I may need a bit longer if Nikon made changes other than what they do for their regular DSLR.

I've never bricked a camera in the past so that should not be a concern.

Let me know when you come to Ottawa and if I still have not received one from Nikon's loaner pool I may take you up on your offer it it means supporting it sooner rather than latter.

Likely early June unless I get a someone to bring it up sometime in May (I'm moving next month so the Z6 will not get a lot of use so a week without it won't kill me).

Good news, someone local offered me his Z6 for testing and I got it to work in BackyardNIKON.  Everything works, bulb works, live view works, planetary 5x works... I'm happy.

What I like is that Nikon did not butcher their SDK implementation like Canon did with their M series mirror-less camera.  Nikon did it right out of the gate with their Z series.

The Z series will be supported in the next release.

Regards,

Wonderful News! About when should we expect the new release?
