I know this is off-topic but I couldn't resist:

Guylain - "Spiderman" for an ID?  Really?  I always thought of you as more of a "Spock" kind of guy... :D

Forrest - You are our "Scottie"!

lol, I was having a beer when I set the alias :)

Right now those alias are standard from the forum config.  I will be changing them to something more astro-like soon.  They are based on your total number of posts/activity on the forum.

Don't know if this is the right place to say my thank you's but I've been so interested in this hobby, spent WAY too much on the wrong things rushing in BUT - Forrest your videos (and then reading more  input from the experienced astrophotographers on the astronomy sites) allowed me to realize (a) I can do this, (B) it is going to cost a bit more than most of us realize (but that's much better than the frustrations not having success) and © we get to achieve this because of people like you and Guylain who created such an amazing piece of software to significantly reduce the difficult areas to give us a really great opportunity towards meeting our "minds-eye" dreams.

Thank you both soooooo much - Frank

Thanks Forrest for your videos.  They were really well done and informative.  In fact, you persuaded me to switch over to a Canon DSLR....I've been shooting with a Nikon for the last two years with all the associated frustration with computer interface, Nikon has really dropped the ball when it comes go getting their kit to communicate with a computer.  I just scored a cheap Canon 20D on Ebay and intend on modding it for AP.  I still love my Nikon camera and Nikor lenses, I just don't have the heart to pull it apart and remove the IR filter. I'm confident that using a Canon platform will speed up the work flow and allow more time for shooting, and less time fighting the Nikon shutter control.   Thanks again.

I quite enjoy Forrest's videos. I've watched the majority of them and they're very informative.

If anyone is interested, I have a list of  some very good tutorial videos by different people (including Forrest) on my bog page. I found the Budget Astro site by Doug German to be one of the best for beginners who are looking to find their way. For those of us with a solid basic foundation, Doug Hubbell's videos are absolutely awesome and show some really great techniques.

Thanks for posting these videos all in one place.

Forrest Thanks for the effort and the professionalism you have put into these videos.

I refer to these every once in a while if I haven't been out in the field for a while.

I don't want to brag, BUT, I was the one who introduced Forrest to BYE community. At the time even Guylain was unaware about the videos basically advertising many virtues of BYE. Yup,  just gave myself a pat on both shoulders, LOL.

BTW, the way I found his channel on YouTube was because I was in the market for good and inexpensive GEM. The one that struck me was new Celestron AVX. First hit was Forrest's un-boxing video on YouTube and the surfing farther I have discovered how good this guy is. And the rest is a history. Forrest, you rock!!! Do tutorial on helix focus where you can have sharp focus from 10mm to 10 meters! I did it!!!!
