Snapshot downloading forever

Windows 7, BYE 3.1.12 Premium (installed this morning), USB through USB3 hub and 5m active cable, Canon T3i

I've been running BYE 2x for a few years with no issues (ever). Installed premium, connected, got live view showing a star. Set a 10 sec exposure at 800 iso, bulb shutter. Exposure counted fine, status went to downloading and stayed there. Waited 30 minutes (a snack) and it was still doing so. Rebooted everything, unplugged and replugged, you name it, tried again - same result.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, then tried it again - same result.

Uninstalled and replaced it with BYE 2 again, no problems whatever. Didn't change any settings on the camera between the two versions or change cabling or anything.

Any suggestions on what to check?

Is your anti-virus software interfering with the new version of BYE? Some A/V services block the download of image files. Did you whitelist the old version of BYE, but not the new version?

In the advanced settings, try to skip EXIF read and write.

I know that it works with the old version, but I would still try to direct connect the camera with the PC using a short cable.

Do Tv exposures work?
