The 77D will not work with BYE 3.1.12 and cannot work with BYE until Canon has released a version of their Software Development Kit which provides support for that model.

Cameras are often out on the market for several months before Canon releases 3rd party support for them in North America. This is why the O'Telescope site has a list of Supported cameras in the store for the BYE product.

There is a pinned post in this forum that is entitled "BackyardEOS camera support grid, is my camera supported?" that explains all of this.

Sorry, but I would not count on BYE support for the 77D in the next 2 weeks.

The 77D was released in Feb 2017.  Based on past history it will take Canon about 9 to 12 months to release the SDK for this model so I doubt that I may be able to support this model before the new year.  Sad but true.

Failing the SDK does show up your best hope is to settle on using EOS Utility and its remote control.  Possibly some one will release PTP based solution for your camera but it won't be the same in my opinion.

I used EOS Utility until I saw an ad for BackYard EOS.  It works but with basics only.

Good luck with the Eclipse.
