Question

Hi,

About 7 years ago I used BYN with good success, I stopped using it as I changed to Sony.

i now use a Sony A7RIII is it likely that there will be a Back Yard version to work with this system?

Thanks in advance.

There is a wealth of information in the archives of these support forums. I thought that I recalled that someone had asked that question in the past. I searched the forums for a topic that included the keyword "sony". Here is what popped up:

There was no reply from the O'Telescope developers. I believe that the advice that I gave in that thread is still relevant today.

Thanks, but in 2017 Sony released the SDK and I remember asking about it, so I figure now that after 7 years the answer is no😕

There is simply not enough of a market right now for me to invest time and effort to support Sony. I remember back in the day it took me a few years to support Nikon cameras. BackyardEOS and BackyardNIKON are a hobby business that I operate nights and weekends, striking a balance between my regular day job, family, O'Telescope, and playing the astronomy hobby myself is always a challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

i fully understand where you are coming from,

I’m an old school photographer brought up with Hasselblads, Leica, Contax and other wonderful cameras using Zeiss lenses, so when Sony launched their range with Zeiss lenses I switched and haven’t been disappointed.

The quality of some the images have been breathtaking.
