BYE3.1.4 connecting issues W7 64bit Cannon 5D Markiii

yamin123

Question

I have a Windows 7 64 bit machine, and I have canon Mark iii 5D with Digic 5 processor,  I downloaded EOS Utility and tested my camera connection works perfectly, I can take pictures by EOS Utility software.

From the camera grid it looks like windows 7 64 bit is good with my Mark iii 5D

5D Mk III
DIGIC V

(32 and 64 bits)

I have downloaded BYE V3.1.4 and when I try and connect the camera it shows the following log.

and then the following screen appears:
1) Make sure EOS Utility is not running.

2) Make sure the camera is turned on and the battery is fully charged.

3) If you are trying to connect a DIGIC II camera model such as the 5D, 20D, 20Da, 30D, or 350D make sure your are running Windows 32 bits.  These models do not work on Windows 64 bits. is this correct???

4) If you are using a USB hub, remove it, connect the camera directly in a USB port on your computer and try again.

If you are still having issues please visit our support forum at http://forum.otelescope.com and open a support ticket.

So it does not connect any feedback is helpful

Yamin,

Have you checked to ensure that EOS Utility is not running in the background, using Task Manager - Details?

Sometimes after closing it continues to run in the background and can 'grab' the camera preventing BYE for connecting.

When you click the Connect button, BYE is displaying the driver selection dialog. You selected the option on the left, but you should have selected the option on the right which is for newer cameras.

The text is in error because it says to select the left if you have the 5D.  This should probably be corrected.

Hi yamin,

Please don't start a support ticket and/or multiple threads for the same issue, this simply doubles my work and does not speed things up :(

In any case, the 5D and the 5D Mk III are NOT the same camera at all.  You need to select the DIGIC 3/4/5/6 drivers in BYE when you connect you 5D Mk III.  It's the option to the right.

Regards,
