Question

I have a Rebel T2i  firmware 1.0.6

Windows Version

Edition    Windows 10 Home
Version    21H2
Installed on    ‎12/‎26/‎2021
OS build    19044.2130
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

I can connect the camera to BYE 3.2.2. I then go to frame and focus while I align my telescope using the frame and focus and zoom box windows. exactly 30 minutes later I hear the camera mirror close and I then start getting a "13:58:35  Parameter is not valid." error
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.
13:58:35  Parameter is not valid.

I the software then locks up and I have to use the CLOSE WINDOW option. I then have to unplug the camera and turn it off. connect the camera to the computer and turn the camera on. and restart BYE 3.2.2.

It will not reconnect using the LIVE VIEW button. I can take an Image from the IMAGING center. but I can return to the frame and focus but the mirror stays down and I cant see anything.

Any I have looked through all the BYE settings, and all the settings in my camera. Everything appears to be set correctly.

any help would be appreciated. It is a real pain to keep starting this up or taking the camera off and putting on a lens to align the scope.

That is a safety feature built into the camera by Canon to prevent damage to the sensor due to prolonged use of LiveView. There is nothing that BYE can do to prevent it. Nor can the 30 minute timer be changed.

It should not take more than 30 minutes to focus and align your scope. I know several users who use LiveView for focusing and alignment and the 30 minute shutoff limit is not a problem for them. Also, you can pause LiveView when you are not actively using it. Then resume it when you need it.

Well, New scope 14" LX600, Polar Mounted on new pier. New camera, new software, new alignment process. Yea it takes me a few minutes to get it aligned right now.  I will do some more testing. Maybe if I leave LIVE VIEW between operations and go back to it. I can make it stay on. I will test. Thanks for the information. This was driving me crazy.

While Astroman133 gave you the reason why LiveView is terminating at 30 minutes, he didn't expound on the Reason and the Impact on your AP Imaging - HEAT.

All Imaging Sensors generate Heat while they are running, and Canon DSLRs are no exception.  Canon uses both the 30-min limit and an onboard thermal sensor as ways to shutdown the DSLR Electronics before Damaging Heat Levels are reached.

But, well before it reaches Damaging Levels, the Heat in the DSLR Electronics starts to affect the Images - especially Long Exposures - produced by the Camera.  Usually, this will evidence as copious Hot Pixels and as subtle red background noise.  The Hot Pixels are generally subtracted by Dark Frames - but only if you again subject your Sensor to very similar Heat levels.  The red noise is true Noise that can't really be removed.

The solution is to not allow your Canon DSLR to reach or remain at High Heat levels - limiting Video and LiveView usage prior to Imaging Sessions or allowing a lengthy (30-60min) Cool-off period.  More exotic solutions such as DIY Mods to embed a Cooling System (google Cold-Finger) have even been popular before moderately priced Cooled CMOS AP Cameras became common.
