BackyardEOS gets stuck in a loop

Hi,

New to the software. I have just downloaded backyardEOS and trying it out using the latest trial version (BYE3.2). I can connect my old Canon 450 and the log file reports:

Camera 'Canon EOS 450D' is connected; model '176', protocol '2'.

I am able to take a photo but when I try and use liveview, backyardEOS goes in to an infinite loop and basically hangs. I need to kill it from the task manager. The error reported in the log is:

If I connect the camera to the EOS Utility app, their equivalent of liveview works fine.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Found the answer! My lens was on Manual, not AF. Setting to AF meant that the Frame & Focus mode works as expected. Worth noting if the software hangs in a loop, that might point to the lens being on Manual.

You will, however, need to switch your Lens back to Manual when you are ready to execute a Capture Plan.  (Otherwise, the Camera will attempt to AutoFocus on "darkness" when the first Exposure is started.)
