USB over Cat6

I have a Canon R5.
Would it be possible to control the camera over cat6 LAN using a USB 2 adapter? 
I would be happy to leave the images on the camera to speed things up if necessary.

I would suggest that you download BYE and get a free, fully-functional, Trial license and try it.

As long as both ends are USB, it should work.

I would have to purchase a USB over Cat6 extender first. It is a bit expensive if it does not work.
The R5 is USB3 so USB2 may be too slow. I will download the trial and do some tests just using USB2, should give me some idea.

I purchased a second hand Microsoft Surface Go and installed Neorouter on it and just run Remote Desktop from my main PC inside the house. I have only done a couple of tests but it appears to work okay.

Your only likely challenges with using the Surface Go as a Scope-side Computer:

• Minimum Storage Space on the Go means you'd have to leave the Images on the Camera or work to Download them in the Background to your Main PC/Laptop
• Battery Life on the GO and the number of Battery-Saving Features/Settings that you will have to Un-Configure to keep the GO Running without losing WiFi or USB Connectivity
• Dew on the Surface Go - which isn't designed for significant Exposure to the Elements (good thing you won't use the Go Screen on a regular basis - you can put it in a Rubbermaid Container with Cable and Air Holes)
