Nikon D5100 error

I have encountered a problem BYN lose connection to the camera after running faultlessly for about 30 min. I am using a Nikon D5100 and a cable from Steve Rosenow.

Almost all Connection Issues are related to the USB Port(s), the USB Cable(s), or the USB Hub(s) involved in the connection between your Laptop and your Camera.

And of these - overly long cables or poor quality cables are the prime suspects.

 

Please ensure that you have checked these for potential issues.  Try shorter Cables, and different USB Ports...

The serial cable is irrelevant in losing connection.

 

As S3igell indicated, all connection lost issues are related to poor USB connection.

 

Are you able to connect your camera again after loosing connection?

No I can not plug the camera back on even if restart my computer.

This is odd, it runs for 30 minutes, then disconnect, then won't reconnect even after a restart?

 

Looks like Windows (or something) is messing the the Camera driver.

 

Do you have a card in your camera?  If yes remove it.  Does it work then?
