Serial Cable Protocol

Xophe92

Question

Hi,

I am considering buying your software (after having tested the trial).

Before that I would like to be prepared to the trial period creating for myself a serial cable (I have a Nikon D5000 which is silly and cannot TerminateCapture with USB/PTP on Bulb mode).

I would just need to create a serial cable to trigger the camera. I know how to handle the camera side of my cable, I just wanted to know at which baudrate you are working with serial communication and what is the byte sequence you send to open and close the shutter.

With this, I will be able to build my cable for little euros allowing me to go to the Premium Edition !!

I hope (do not see why) this information is not too (would be) sensitive !

Best regards,

Christophe

Christophe,

For those cameras that need a second DSUSB cable, or equivalent, to control BULB exposures, you do not need the Premium version of BYN.  The Classic version supports that functionality as well. However, for the small additional price the Premium version adds many valuable features.
