Question

I apologize if this has been addressed before. I searched and couldn't come up with anything.
I just upgraded to 3.1 last night after a bit of a hiatus and the shutter speed feature in planetary mode isn't working as it did before. I do know that this setting doesn't control actual shutter speed.
I'm shooting with a 1000D in manual mode. In 3.0, when I adjusted the shutter speed in planetary mode, the brightness of both the preview image and the resulting .avi changed noticeably. Last night however, the shutter speed setting had no effect on the brightness of the image (including the final .avi). Jupiter was completely washed out whether the shutter was set to 30" or 1-2500.
There's probably something simple that I'm missing, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it might be. Any ideas?
*Edit to add - I tried this using both normal and 5x view modes and at ISOs from 100 to 800.
Thanks,
Marc
