Trying to snap previews, only getting "busy" and unable to abort

Larsenbd

Question

I'm using the most recent trial version of BYN, successfully connected to my Nikon D750 ( I can see a live view in the Frame and Focus mode).  In Frame and Focus mode, if I try to snap an image I hear the shutter trigger but only get a spinning wheel in the right upper corner with a "busy" display, which can't be aborted.  Same thing happens in Imaging mode if I try to either preview or start capture.  I have to turn the camera off to escape.  Doesn't matter whether the shutter exposure is short or long or bulb.  Camera is in Manual mode; noise reduction settings are all off. Using a 70-300mm Nikon lens with manual focus on, auto focus off.

Seems like a data transfer problem.  Using a new HP laptop with plenty of storage.  Connected to camera via 6' USB A to mini-B 8 pin cord.

Help please!  I really want this to work.

I haven't been able to find an option to save to PC only or PC + card in the settings; I removed the memory cards from the camera, double checked that auto-focus is off, camera set to "M" mode on bulb, and subwheel set on "S".  Was able to take one series of 5 photos on BYN on bulb, but changed shutter speed to 1/400 and tried another series but again went into "Busy" and wouldn't save, wouldn't abort.  Any other suggestions?
