Disable your anti-virus during the activation... it is possible that your anti-virus in preventing the call to the activation server.

 

Also, reboot and try again.

 

Don't forget to re-activate your anti-virus :)

Thanks. By disconnectiing both the firewall and AV, the validation proceeded.

 

This is odd, I have over 1,000 installations so far and you are the only one that the validation has not gone through due to a anti-virus (or FW) setting.
