Mod'd Sl1

Question

Hi,

I was using my mod'd SL1 for the first time last night with BYE. In live view all I could see was a lot of blue noise. Couldn't see any stars at all. I was using an IDAS Filter with it.

I switched to my 6D and everything worked as expected. Clear black background with stars.

I don't think there is anything wrong with BYE but since you are an expert in canon cameras I thought I would ask if you had any ideas what might be going on.

Thanks,

Mike.

1) Are you sure you were in-focus?

2) Make sure the exposure simulation is enabled in your camera menu (if it has such option).  If it is not there it means it is automatically on so no worries there.

3) Select a higher ISO in F&F, does it make a difference?

4) Try the StarHD feature in BYE to enhance live view, this may help.

Regards,

Also, what is displayed on the Rear LCD of the SL1 - if not connected to BYE - when you are in LiveView with the same ISO and Exposure Settings ??

Ensure that you don't have some unusual condition due to a fault in the Mod process (a faulty or badly connected flat ribbon cable, etc)...
