Unable to connect Canon 100D (Rebel SL1) to BYE

brendanspelman@hotmail.com

Question

Hi,

I'm trying for the first time to connect my Canon 100D (Rebel SL1) camera to my laptop and BYE (trial version, for now - will purchase if I can get it to work).

The laptop seems to recognize that the camera is connected and I can see it in the Windows Device Manager with the message "this device is working properly".

However, When I open BYE and click connect, I select the "Canon DIGIC 3/4/5/67/8" option (100D uses DIGIC 5) and I get a window saying there was a connection problem with the following hints:

1) Make sure EOS Utility is not running. <-- I checked - it is not.

2) Make sure the camera is turned on and the battery is fully charged. <-- It is on and has a freshly charged battery

3) If you are trying to connect a DIGIC II camera model such as the 5D, 20D, 20Da, 30D, or 350D make sure your are running Windows 32 bits.  These models do not work on Windows 64 bits. <-- 100D uses DIGIC 5 (I am running Windows 10 64 bit).

4) If you are using a USB hub, remove it, connect the camera directly in a USB port on your computer and try again. <-- I was, but removed it and still not working

If you are still having issues please visit our support forum at http://forum.otelescope.com and open a support ticket.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Brendan.
