BYNikon and Port setup

drbruce@cox.net

Question

I am trying to use my Nikon 850 D with the Sky X.  I am able to connect to BYN without any problems.  But when I choose the BYN in the Sky X and try to connect I am unable.  It wants to use port 1499.  I do not have a port 1499.  I have rebooted many times, but it still does not connect.  I have tried many other ports but I have not been able to connect to my camera thru the Sky X.  There must be something I am not doing correctly.

Thank you,

Bruce

Port 1499 is the default TCP/IP port used by BYN for 3rd Part Integration. Using this port is what allows TSX to control your camera through BYN.

You need to select and check "Enable TCP Server" on the BYN Settings dialog and make sure that the Port Number is also 1499. Then click OK to close the dialog and restart BYN. Then TSX should be able to connect.

If necessary, you can change the port number to any unused, high TCP port number (any unused port above 1024 is fair game). However both TSX and BYN have to be configured to use the same port. AND you need to restart BYN if you change the port number.
