Mirror Lock setting

galljj

Question

I'm using version 3.2.2 on a 500d.  In the capture plan settings there is no place to specify the mirror lock seconds, as I expected from reading the 3.1 manual.

Under advanced settings, in the experimental features box there is a show/hide  mirror lock up line, but no way i can see to toggle the setting

any help appreciated.

The screenshot below shows where to toggle the option, as well as the control to adjust the mirror lock delay. Both controls are annotated with a red rectangle.

That said, it is almost never necessary to specify a mirror lock value. This is why it is hidden by default. For mounts that are capable of doing long duration astrophotography there is no discernable degradation of sub-exposure from vibration due to the camera's mirror flipping. This vibration is of very short duration compared to the length of the exposure and the typical effects of seeing.

What do you mean no way to toggle this setting?

Thanks both - my eyes aren't what they used to be, and the check box was not immediately apparent to me.

FWIW, I'm travelling with carry on luggage - and my CGEM and Stellarvue triplet wouldn't fit.  So I'm stuck with less than rigid tripod/mount.  Mirror lock is essential in some cases.
