The Windows laptop on which BYE is installed is set to UTC. When I import CR2 files into PixInsight using my desktop computer, it adds +5 hours to the capture time shown in the FITS header. That's because my desktop computer is set to EST (UTC-5), and Pixinsight thinks it needs to add 5 hours to adjust.
If BYE were upgraded to support EXIF version 2.31, then the additional tags OffsetTime, OffsetTimeOriginal, and OffsetTimeDigitized would become available. Setting OffsetTime = 0 within BYE would then eliminate the annoyance of Pixinsight adding 5 hours to the capture time.
Will support for EXIF version 2.31 be added in the future?
