Live view settings not changing with Nikon D7100

Alekh10

Question

So when I was trying out planetary photography, I found out that my iso and shutter speed, weren't affecting the live view function at all. Mars was blown out and nothing changed it. I read from cloudy nights that I had to stop the live view, change the settings(iso, shutter speed) and then start up live view again but to no avail. I am relatively new at this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not all Nikon models have exposure simulation in Live View. Even if they do, it is not a uniform change over the entire range of exposures or ISOs.

Also, Nikons do not behave the same as Canon where 5X zoom is 1:1 resolution, so the planetary imaging with a Nikon may not give satisfactory results even with good exposure and focus.
