Licence key and identifier

Hi,

I downloaded backyard eos, it then asks for the above sign in codes. I typed in my login name which is my email address and then my password. It comes back with invalid password and licence key can anyone please advise?

You don't even have a license key.  All you did is create an account here on the website and downloaded the software.  Your website login info is *not* your software activation key.

You need to add BackyardEOS Trial edition in your cart now and proceed to checkout to get a trial key.  The process is free and you don't need to provide a credit card to check out a trial version.... but the process is necessary for the activation server to generate a key.

Once this is done, your key will be available 24/7 here on the website under "My Purchases -> Orders".

I have done what you said, I already had the software installed on my computer. I entered the license key and the identifier and now it says "internet access is required to activate a trial key" I am connected to the internet.

I have given up! it says I already have a version so cant update. I have deleted the version I downloaded. Your site is really hard to follow. Very disappointed that I cant try this app out, but just to difficult to find away around your site.

You keep mixing the act of downloading a file with the act of acquiring a software key.

You acquire a key via the store.

You download from the download section.

Since you already have a key, all you need to do now is download and you to this by going to the download section on the website main blue menu bar at the top.

Thank you I have got it downloaded. I have one other question, can you use the software without guiding? I use an ioptron skyguider pro as my mount. This of course cant be guided. I just want to know if I can use your software with this mount , my William Optics RedCat 51 and my Canon DSLR.

BackyardEOS is mainly to control your camera from your computer; it doesn't really care about any other equipment you have outside controlling your camera. Guiding is not required to use BackyardEOS.

No, never did.  It does dithering if you're guiding...but that is optional.

If you do add AutoGuiding to your  iOptron Skyguider Pro (it is Guidable - just only in the RA Axis), you'd add PHD2 AutoGuiding Software to your Laptop (alongside BYE).  PHD2 would take care of the AutoGuiding simultaneous to BYE managing your Imaging Camera.

While PHD2 can only control your Skyguider in the RA Axis (essentially providing PEC), it can also help you with your Polar Alignment via it's various Drift Alignment or Polaris-Imaging routines.  A definite WIN for a Tracking Mount.
