My camera is a Rebel EOS T7 and is not recognized.  Is there some configuration or other file to download?

Which version of Windows are you running??

Microsoft has been very good about including all the current Canon (and Nikon) Drivers in each half-yearly Upgrade.  But you could have set Windows such as the Driver is not already present - look to the Canon Support Site and Download / Install the T7 Driver appropriate for your OS.
