First let me say that I have NOT used these cards.

Now that the disclaimer is in, I would like to point out that it is basically still a storage device, albeit cloud based.  You will still need to tether your camera to your laptop to use BYEOS.  Sort of defeats the purpose of having the Eye-Fi card in my opinion.

To expand on this a bit, the Eye-Fi Cards merely enable the WiFi Transfer of JPG Images to a Connected iPhone/iPad or Android Phone/Tablet.  The Eye-Fi ProX2 enable higher-speed Transfers and thus allow RAW File Transfers as well, and connect to a WiFi Infrastructure (Router / AccessPoint) vs WiFi AdHoc (Pairing to Phone/Tablet).

There are no capabilities to control the Camera's Shutter nor any Settings - none of the Functionality which BYE gains via the Canon ESDK.  So, the Eye-Fi cannot replace the USB Tether connection between BYE and DSLR.

Now, the Canon 6D and 70D realy DO have some WiFi-based Remote Settings and Remote Shutter Controls - at least to the Canon-supplied Ad-Hoc WiFi-connected iOS and Android Apps.

These App / Camera / WiFi Combos indicate almost as much Remote Control as via the Canon ESDK - BUT Canon lists right in their Current ESDK that "Built-in Wi-Fi transmitter of EOS 6D is not supported".

So, keep that USB Cable for at least a while longer...
