Canon 6D MK II Download of Images

saturn5pc

Question

I just have a question on how to increase the download speed through BYE 3.1 (I am using a laptop with Win 7 64 bit, and 8G RAM).  I am using a full frame Canon 6D MK II  so the RAW file is big (26M) per image.  If I take a three minute exposure, it takes three minutes to download.  Similarly, a four minute takes four minutes.  This, obviously, is a problem if I want 30 images of three minute sub frames if each time it takes three minutes to download each image.  Any suggestion will help.  Thanks.

You may have Long Exposure Noise Reduction (LENR) turned on in the camera. This tells the camera to take a dark frame for every light frame. Once both the dark and the light have been captured, the camera tells BYE that the image is available for download. That is why your download time increases as the light exposure duration increases. You need to disable LENR in the camera.
