Key Validation Error

jonny99

Question

I had installed the trial version of Backyard EOS in Nov 2017.  I am trying to re-install now on a different computer. Downloaded and installed 3.1.18. However, the license key that was issued at that time (shown in my account) is not validating, with the error message being "Trial version not valid". I have tried re-"purchasing", but the Web site says it is not possible since it is already purchased.  Suggestions?

First, there is no such thing as a "trial version". The version is a number like 3.1.18. There are three licenses: Trial, Classic, and Premium. The Trial license is free and expires after 30 days. If you are trying to use your Trial license from 2017, then it will not work because it is expired.

If you don't have a Classic or Premium license showing in your My Purchases area of your profile on this site, then you never actually purchased a license. If you already got a free Trial license, then you cannot get another one. Think about it...If you could just keep getting a new Trial license, why would you ever purchase a license?

I think that you have 2 options.  Either purchase a Classic or Premium license and apply it to your copy of 3.1.18, or perhaps you could plead your case and ask the Admins to allow you another Trial license. Whatever license you get, there is no need to download a new copy of BYE. Any of the licenses can be applied to what you currently have.

Well. trials are good for 30 days, yours is 3 years old... so it's not valid anymore.  After the trial is over you need to purchase.
