running into immediate trouble on connecting

hi, I am connecting T61. My driver is updated, and I'm running the latest version of EOS. When I plug the camera into my computer and hit connect, all is well but the information from the camera doesn't stay in the camera information center for more than a second. I can't seem to find a way to set it so I can always view it. The video shows you simply connect and that's it it's there, but not for me.

Well, it looks like it is connecting... but then the SDK fails.

I recommend a camera factory reset in case there is a setting in there that causes this behavior.

That is a T61?  This is not a known Canon camera model.

Please specify your exact camera model.

What version of BYE are you using?

Which SDK drivers are you choosing in BYE when connecting?  Canon or Canon2010?

Does Windows even see the camera in device manager.

Please be as descriptive as possible when reporting errors. Just saying you are running in trouble is not very helpful to provide meaningful help.

Make sure that WiFi is disabled in the camera's menus and connect the camera to the PC via USB. Also, put the camera in Manual shooting mode.

I apologize. It wasn't at first reporting any errors. I connected it via the cable into my usb port. It sees it and says it is connected. The camera control window flashes all the information for about a second and a half. All the boxes are filled with the camera's info, and then it disappears.
When connecting, I click on the Canon driver. (the software version is 3.1.18.

just did it now

14:12:30 Canon drivers 'Canon\' initialized.

14:12:33 750D-T6i CONNECTED!

then this just happened for the first time

14:12:33 EDsInitializeSDK() ERROR!

 

In the upper left corner, the two boxes that are active are connect and preview. the others aren't

yes, I wasn't getting it when I first posted. but will reset and reinstall now.
