BYE - Trial Software not working

tech.mechanic

Question

Hi There

I just downloaded the latest trial version of BYE 3.1 and installed it on Windows 7 Home Premium. It through an assertion error when I started it. It recognized my camera (Canon EOS 650D) when I attached it and selected a driver. At this stage all that was available was the Camera and Preview buttons and nothing else . I couldn't seem to get any further. I have attached a couple of screenshots (via google drive). Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like your PC is missing some microsoft c++ redistribution files (or they have been corrupted).  This is not a BYE error per say because it is not a c++ application.... but the Canon SDK is c++ and this is where it fails.

Here is a link with most of the Microsoft c++ redistribution files.  Install them all.  It should fix your issue.

According to the provided screenshot you chose the Canon210 drivers (SDK). That is for the very old cameras. You should choose Canon drivers instead.

Hi Astroman133

I just noticed that too. I changed to the correct driver, and things are working now. Thanks so much. 🙂
