I will be purchasing the final retail version also.  Here's an image captured entirely with BYN and a D5100 complete with dithering in PHD2:

The only fault I can find is that the beta does not save to the SD card, which for a ViewNX user makes it tedious to post process the images since the Nikon file number is circumvented and ViewNX will not even import the images.   Means transferring the images from my guiding laptop to a SD card and then to my desktop for processing.

Aside from that annoyance, the program works perfectly for me.

Cheers...Paul

Pretty nice.

As for not save to SD card, this appears to be a Nikon SDK limitation.  When a Nikon camera is connected to the camera for tethered shooting is forces to image to be saved to computer only.  I have not found any SDK command that will allow to save to SD card as well... so I may be forces to remove this option from the UI.

Is is possible to use BYN's flexible file naming convention to mimic the file names of images that are saved to the camera?

With the next BETA, yes.  Same as in the next RC for BYE.  If you choose <sequence> as the unique identifier the actual sequence will be the camera image sequence number used.

Hope this helps,

That will help 1000% Guylain, if the file sequence numbering is retained I don't care where it saves to.  At least at that point the files should be able to be imported by Nikon ViewNX for display and review.  The review screens in ViewNX are the best and easiest I have ever used, enlarge the first image to 200% and then you can just arrow through the entire folder to cull out any bad images/etc.

Thanks for that info, very encouraging indeed.

Best...Paul

Oh, and here's another BYN capture:

I've taken a number of pictures but don't have any thing as nice as those.  I'm limited due to Orion taking almost a year to repair my Atlas mount.  My C8 fork is just about impossible to polar align.  With my D5100 I leave the picture number to <sequence> and it saves the picture file as created by the camera.  I don't have any transfer issues since I use one lap top to do every thing.  ViewNX has no problems reading the raws on the laptop.  I had a lot of various issues getting it to run but it seems for now anyway everything is running fine.  Very nice program.  Just leave the SD card out.  If using a Nikon lens have the lens set at manual focus and VR off.  Then no issues.
