My T6i can connect to my wifi network aud I can control it remotely with Canon EOS utility. Before I discovered BYE, this is what I intended to use, but BYE is so much more powerful. Can BYE use this wifi capability instead of the USB wire?

@DanielRivet How were you able to connect the T6i to Canon EOS utility wirelessly?  I just got the T6i and was hoping to do the same thing, but I'm not seeing that option in the settings of the camera.  I have the option to connect so a smartphone but not to a computer via EOS Utility.

The problem is that Canon does not provide information to 3rd party developers about how to accomplish pairing the camera to the PC and the Canon SDK does not perform this step. Some users have been able to use WiFi with their cameras by first pairing using the EOS Utility then disconnect it and connect with BYE. There is a documented process by a successful user in the old messages on this forum.

Just be aware that WiFi is slower and less reliable than a wired USB connection AND even a momentary communication glitch will likely cause the SDK to freeze. This will cause you to have to kill BYE and restart it. For these reasons a wired connection is recommended.
