I am watching the 2:41 video and there camera is just connected?  How?

The auto camera connect feature has been removed a long time ago due to issues with some models.

You need to physically press the connect button now.

Not sure about your question. You physically connect your camera to the PC by plugging one end of the USB cable into the camera and the other end into the PC. After launching BYE you establish a digital connection between the camera and BYE by clicking on BYE's Connect button and selecting the appropriate driver set for your camera. For the 5D Mk III you should select Canon, rather than Canon 210 or Canon215 as the driver set.

Much of this is discussed in the User Guide. If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader you can view the User Guide by launching BYE and clicking on the question mark "?" button at the right-hand end of the BYE Title bar.
